Ni hao! My name is Kunal and I am extremely excited to be joining the Chartered Traveller crew!

I quit my job as a professional and moved into the fast-food service industry serving customers some of the best Mexican food in Canada; however, I soon realized I still wasn’t quite happy and fulfilled being a Burrito Maestro and decided to dream even bigger and chose to explore the world instead. Growing up in Calgary, I was never a big traveller. My first biggest trip was to Vancouver this past summer with my girlfriend and brother, but I had no travel experience at all. I had mistakenly booked an expensive hotel and I almost broke the bank because of it. Luckily, I ran into a Chartered Traveller who gave me such amazing tips and tricks on how to save hundred of dollars staying in other cities… and it worked!

Life is too short to be stuck in a cubicle or turtling behind a counter (or at home in bed). My goal is to provide you with experience tested pro-tips and useful advice on travelling.

How It All Started
My fellow Chartered Travellers and I started an investment fund where we each each put $10,000 into a brokerage account and invested our funds in the equity and options market. Given our educated and professional backgrounds, we made a return on investment of approximately 67% in just 3 months time (that’s 268% annually!). This gave us the opportunity to quit our day jobs and to focus purely on just travelling the world.

Also, a mutual love of dumplings is what bonds us Chartered Travellers together, and I am looking forward to travelling to China, the land of dumplings, where I also hope to try some real Szechuan peppercorn and other cuisines.

I will keep you guys updated on all of my travel stories, the fun people I meet and the interesting foods I eat.
